StoryTribute isn't open yet. For now, this site is a few pages to read, so there's very little to tell you here. This page explains what happens when you visit, and who to ask if you have a question.

The short version

  • You don't sign up for anything here, and there are no forms to fill in.
  • We don't set cookies, and we never sell information about you.
  • Our web host sees the basic details every website sees, such as your IP address, so it can show you the pages.
  • Outside Europe, Microsoft Clarity shows us how people move around the site, such as clicks and scrolling. Anything you type is hidden, and it sets no cookies.

Who we are

StoryTribute is run by Simirity Ltd, a small family business registered in England (company number 14373273). We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, which oversees data protection in the UK.

Our address is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You can write to us any time at [email protected].

What we collect

Nothing you type. There are no accounts, forms or email sign-ups on this site.

We don't set any cookies of our own, and Clarity, described below, is set up to use none.

What our web host sees

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the basic details your browser sends with every visit, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for. It uses them to deliver the pages and to protect the site from attacks.

Cloudflare does this for us under its own privacy policy. We don't use these details to work out who you are.

The fonts and pictures all come from the site itself. Outside Europe, Microsoft also sees your visit, through Clarity, described under "Watching how visits go".

Counting visits

We count how many people visit each page with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you to other websites. It gives us totals, not a record of you.

Watching how visits go

To learn which parts of the site help people and which confuse them, we use Microsoft Clarity. It makes a replay of each visit, showing where people click, how far they scroll and how they move around a page.

Anything you type is hidden before it leaves your browser. Clarity sets no cookies on this site, so it can't link one visit to the next or follow you to other websites. Microsoft handles this under its own privacy statement.

If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Clarity doesn't load at all.

When you leave for Simirity

The page after "Start their tribute" links to Simirity Family Journal, the family story app we also make. The link carries a short tag saying you came from StoryTribute. It carries nothing about you.

Once you're on Simirity's site, Simirity's privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Because we don't collect anything you type, we don't keep a file about you. If you have a question about your information, or want to use your rights under data protection law, such as asking what we hold, write to [email protected]. We'll reply within a month.

If you're in the UK and unhappy with our reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Elsewhere, you can contact your local data protection authority.

Children

StoryTribute is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

When StoryTribute opens

When StoryTribute opens, it will hold the stories families add. Before anyone can start a tribute, we'll rewrite this page to explain how we look after them.

Changes to this page

If we change this page, we'll update the date at the top.
